JOSEPH ANTHONY FRANCIS

Picture
Growing up in the Chicago area, Joseph Anthony Francis fell in love with writing at an early age. He left Chicago for four years to attend the University of Notre Dame where he received the university’s prestigious William Mitchell Award for Playwriting. Upon graduating from Notre Dame, Joseph returned to Chicago where he attended and graduated from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. In addition to practicing law, Joseph inspired a new generation of writers as a high school English teacher.

While studying and teaching literature, Joseph became a huge fan of Charles Dickens whose novels were originally released in installments, each ending in a cliffhanger to keep readers coming back for more. Because of his love of those novels as well as television dramas, Joseph developed several serialized sagas of his own for contemporary audiences, including Windy City, Blood and Betrayal, and Cortland Parkway. As a result, those who know his work often refer to him as “The King of the Cliffhanger.”

No one enjoys and celebrates Christmas more than Joseph. Annually, he engages in holiday traditions that showcase the joy of the season. It’s no wonder then that Joseph has written several delightful Christmas films, including romantic comedies like Dash Away All, Christmas Conundrum, and School Bells and Sleigh Bells.

Known to many simply as “Screenwriter Joe,” Joseph Anthony Francis has been recognized by film festival worldwide and has received over one hundred fifty awards for his writing.

Recently, Joseph wrote several vertical drama series that are currently available to viewers on apps such as SaltyTV and Playlet.
